All the items are made by hands with love and passion.
The name of the brand, "rumah" stands for "home" in Indonesian language.
It has a wish to want to be like a home where people can feel relaxed, comfortable and safe.

What "rumah " aims for:
Using materials as organic as possible for people and the earth.
Putting messages into items for children who are the future to be able to live happily and safely.
Being practical.
Working with my inspirations.

About the designer:
Mamiko Taira
Born in Xmas Eve in 1974 in Chiba, Japan.
Graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999.
Started working at a musical theatrical company in Yokohama, Japan from 2000.
Making costumes and props.
Giving birth to her 2nd child made her start "rumah" because he was born with allergic eczema.
