This is a delicate bracelet, strung together with Mizoram carnelian, ancient agate, Naga antique beads, old Chin silver, and Orissa brass.
The orange beads are Mizoram carnelian, believed to be from the 18th century, originating from the Mizoram state in Eastern India. They possess a lustrous and vibrant quality. While showing minor imperfections, these only enhance their unique charm.
(Mizoram Carnelian size: 0.6cm H x 0.7cm D)
Accented with ancient agate featuring white banding. These beads were unearthed from the Indus Valley region, spanning areas like Pakistan and India, and are approximately 2000 years old. They are small and charming, yet display beautiful striations.
The primary beads, a mix of various blues, are antique Venetian beads that found their way to the Naga tribe in India. Their color is truly exquisite, and being semi-transparent, they become even more captivating when held against the light! White hearts, lapis lazuli beads, and striped kann beads were also part of this blue bead strand.
The壶-shaped components next to the ancient agate are crafted from old Chin silver, dating back to the 18th-19th century, originating from Burma. These were traditionally used by Chin women in necklaces and exhibit a unique patina and endearing marks from wear. Their substantial feel and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though modern pieces can be stylish too...). These beads are genuinely rare and quite precious!
The golden beads and the anchor-like charm beside the ancient agate are made of old Orissa brass, rare antique beads from the Orissa state in India. The clasp charm is also an old brass component from India.
The slightly curved clasp and the beads forming the loop are Karen silver. The small Karen silver beads on the clasp are individually stamped! It's mind-boggling to think they are all done by hand...
◇ Karen Silver ◇
This silver is crafted by a hill tribe living in Thailand and Burma. Each piece is handmade, and it's said to have a very high purity.
Connected with waxed cord, it will feel slightly stiff initially but will become supple with wear.
