The stone stays as it was from when I found it at the riverside, except that it now has some holes with a brass comb part. The brass has no coating, so you can enjoy the slow change of colour and texture as time glides by.
Try laying it together with different materials, wood may work very well. Or you could try it on your hair in a bun, to give a tribal look.
