The people knew that in the name of Dazhdbog the most ancient "gast" or "Gosh" is heard, which means now – "guest". And God himself in ancient times was understood as: "A guest who gives the Light of the Sun" or "A messenger of the gods who brought people the power of the Sun, its light and warmth as a gift." In addition, in the name of Dazhdbog, "the giving God" is heard. Therefore, the Slavs still turn to him as a Generous God.
The God Dazhdbog appears to the Slavs in a white radiance with a golden crown-the Sun on his head.
The father of Dazhbog in the mythology of the Slavs is Perun Svarozhich, the son of Svarog. Hence they praise the bright God Dazhbog Tarkh Perunovich. His mother was the mermaid Ros – the daughter of Asi and Don. In the mythology of the Slavs, the God Dazhbog was not born alone to Perun and Rosi, he also has a sister, Tara, who is revered by the Slavs as the Goddess of the Guiding Star. Such are the divine children of Perun and Rosi – Tarkh and Tara!
