ZORKI-S EXCELLENT LEICA COPY FOR YOUR COLLECTION!

A classic Soviet Leica copy - Zorki-S (S means Synchronization). It was introduced in 1955 on the base of Leica equipment at Krasnogorsky Optical and Mechanical Factory (KMZ). Leica and Carl Zeiss equipment were brought to USSR after WW2 as reparation. Zorki-S is almost identical to the original Zorki (Leica II (D) copy), but it adds a flash synch mechanism with the adjustable synch timing advance (from 0 to 25 ms). Also, the shutter speed can be selected before of after the film is wound and the shutter is cocked. Zorki-S body was cast, which made the camera more rigid than its predecessor, Zorki type1. As any Zorki it accepts (and RF couples to) any lens in Leica thread mount. Along with Zorki-2S, it was one of the most popular 35 mm camera in the USSR in the mid 50's. Many people used Zorki-S for decades, long after it was discontinued by KMZ in 1958. * Frame size 24x36mm. * Film type: usual type 135 film, can be applied any modern film in usual film cassettes, You just should to know the "secrete" how to load it properly. * Shutter speeds: from B to 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/250,1/500th of second. Synchronization with flash units at 1/25 sec. Shutter speeds looks appropriate. Synchronization with modern flash begin to work at "0" position of timing advance. * Lens: Camera equipped with coated lens "Industar-26m", it is a very sharp Soviet lens and it is a copy of famous Zeiss Tessar. Focal Length = 52mm, aperture from 2.8 to 16 (with 1 f-stop clicks). Industar-26m is a very sharp coated Russian lens, it is a copy of famous Zeiss Tessar. You can find a lot of Industar's on different Soviet LTM and SLR cameras. The relative aperture of Industar is less than at Jupiter-8, but it is more contrast and sharp. The lens is clean, no fungus, no scratches or separations. NOTE: Soviet lens manufacturers wrote even about NEW lenses: "The components of modern high quality lenses are produced from special grades of glass. The smelting process involved causes inevitable formation of gasses which get trapped in the glass to form bubbles. They are always noticed with complex photographic lenses. The bubbles do not affect the lens performance or the quality of the image. Soviet state standards also allows the presence of next minor defects: scratches with the width less than 0.02mm at each surface of each optical element with total length no more than double element's diameter; dots with diameter less than 0.3mm no more than 5 dots; several minor pieces of dust and no more 2 napkin fibers with the length no more 3mm. Therefore, the factory does not accept claims about bubbles and minor defects of clearance found in lenses or exchange such lenses." * Lens mount is M39, same with LTM, You can use any Leica TM lens with it, and use its sharp Industar with any screw mount Leica. * Filter mount: external 35mm and internal 23x0.5 mm screw mount. * Discrete RF and VF windows, there is clear and sharp. * Tripod socket: 3/8". * The camera was made in 1956.
