The design is inspired by the zen garden which is one of the symbols of zen. The stones and sand are placed irregularly to present the mountains and the water flow. Its a transformation from concrete objects to abstract concept. Applying this concept to the hat, long ribbon is used to surround the hat while the hat represent the stone and the ribbon represent the sand. Its functional that allow the users to adjust as well.
