As the sixth flute champagne glass, the final stage for the time being, I decided to make a "flat openwork chrysanthemum connection" that puts the color of the beverage first.
The design of the flat openwork chrysanthemum connection itself was invented at the time of rock glass, so I redesigned it to the size of a flute champagne glass and cut it.
I also used other designs to make the color transparent by cutting, but since it looks a little mosaic from the top of the cut, I thought that I should develop a rock glass with a device that can truly enjoy the color of sake. That is the origin of this design.
To make it look completely clear instead of mosaic
・ Rubbing the sides of the glass flat with a flat surface
・ Rubbing the sides round with a curved blade
I thought there were only two ways.
As a result of clarifying the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods and comparing them, the lower part of the glass is rubbed with a flat blade called a flat blade.
In order not to make the design too close to the original, the upper part is cut around the chrysanthemum connection, which is a traditional pattern, and tightened with a ring to create a traditional Kiriko style.
Also, instead of cutting it completely into a strip, I adjusted it so that the intersection of the chrysanthemums would slightly protrude into the valley of the flat openwork to create a sense of unity.
Since the colored part is almost cleared, the work man-hours are considerably higher than other products.
The price is relatively high, but I think it's worth it.
Chrysanthemums connected with chrysanthemums are very auspicious with meanings such as longevity, disease-free breathing, evil spirits, nobility, and integrity. All the works with chrysanthemums are luxurious.
Chrysanthemum connection is a cut that requires a sense that cannot be cut by effort alone.
This very difficult pattern can only be cut by an experienced Edo Kiriko craftsman, so it is also a proof of that.

The Kiriko of our workshop is polished using the traditional method of Edo Kiriko, "hand polishing", which maintains the strength of the glass and finishes it with high quality.
On the other hand, there are some things in the world that polish the glass while immersing it in an acid called "acid polishing" and melting the entire glass into pieces.
Acid-polished ones have the disadvantages of being easily scratched and the color may fade, but since the man-hours can be reduced and the price can be sold at a low price, sales will improve, so many workshops and writers perform acid-polishing. We are here.
Since the cut surface of our workshop is polished one by one, the original strength of the glass is not lost, and you can wash it with a detergent or scrubbing brush.
Please note that boiling water, microwave ovens and dishwashers cannot be used like any other glassware.
