★ Written using USA terminology
★ SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE (if you use thick yarn) and ADVANCED (if you use thin yarn)
★ FINISHED SIZE of the toy is about 2.5-3cm, fit into a walnut shell
★ SKILLS REQUIRED: You must be able to crochet micro toys. Also I added a video lesson how to do thread mount (thread jointing of moving parts).
★ MATERIALS AND TOOLS :
- Yarn: I use thin «Slonim» yarn (cotton+acrylic, 100g ~ 1500m). Colors: white, black to crochet a panda; green and yellow to crochet a bamboo. A floss of 1-2 threads is also suitable; you need a thin thread, as thin as possible.
NOTE: this pattern can also be used for crocheting toys from thicker yarn, so if it is difficult for you to crochet using thin yarn, try to crochet using thicker yarn first.
- Hook №0.7 (0.7mm; it is extremely difficult to crochet from thin yarn, try different hook numbers, perhaps it will be more convenient for you to crochet using thinner or thicker hook: №0.6-0.9)
- Fiberfill (to stuff)
- Glue eyes (2mm)
- Walnut shell, 8 magnets, some decors (to decorate the shells from the inside), ribbon.
- Some black felting wool and 1 star felting needle №38 (felt parts near eyes)
NOTE: black parts near eyes you can tint (draw), but I still recommend trying to felt; for this you do not need wide knowledge of felting, take small pieces of wool and gently (so that the needle does not break) felt with a needle; if you have never felted anything before, crochet a test head and practice on it.
- Needle, safety pins, scissors, glue (Moment Crystal), hot glue (to glue the magnets), thin stick (for the convenience of stuffing small parts).
