Edo Kumiko Coaster

Kumiko is a small parts or compornents that makes up fittings Shoji and Ranma, it is smaller than the San(=Shoji parts). Kumiko work is a traditional woodworking technique for fittings that creates fine patterns by manually combining thin boards with cuts without using nails. There are a wide variety of traditional designs, and it takes a lot of time to master the elaborate technique that is familiar with the properties of wood, which is a material, and that does not allow even the slightest error.
