This teacup was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath.
This teacup was made from Japanese clay and then gas-fired for 14 hours. While the clay was still wet I faceted the sides of the yunomi to add interest to the piece. The cup was left slightly heavy which makes it ideal for drinking hot tea - you won't burn your hands!
My seal is stamped at the base of the pot near the trimmed foot ring.
I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivated me to create functional items out of clay.
Be the owner of a handmade teacup from the beautiful island of Taiwan.
