The town of Ino in Kochi prefecture where I live is a paper town. My grandparents were also flirting with handmade Japanese paper. So I made a Japanese paper chair. The cypress wood is light and relatively durable, but the texture as a furniture material is not good enough. I feel that I was able to bring out the advantages by covering it with Japanese paper.
I'm sure some people are concerned about dirt, but I think it can be used as it is, as with upholstered sofas. It's not perfect because it's coated with Dosa liquid, but it repels water. It can also be replaced.
