As you devise a design, it becomes more and more complex and full of originality. However, I felt that it was necessary to have a design that was made up of only traditional items, so I started work. The bottom is a traditional and basic 16-leaf bottom chrysanthemum. In order to make the bottom chrysanthemum look beautiful, the side surface near the bottom is shaved with a flat surface. You can enjoy the beauty of the double bottom chrysanthemum by making the bottom look double by refraction of light. In addition, the traditional chrysanthemum tie and Yarai, which are often used in Edo Kiriko, are placed on the side. The chrysanthemum tie is a cut with a lot of color that cuts in a shape that removes all the color covering. Considering the balance of it, I placed Yarai, which has a dark finish and the amount of cut is not so large, on the opposite side to balance the whole. I also considered making a single band by wrapping the chrysanthemums around. However, I wanted to enjoy the design for the other one, so I decided to put in two big designs. It is a chrysanthemum connection that is one of the most difficult traditional patterns. As a commitment, by using a shallow cut mountain, the color is removed as much as possible and the whole is adjusted to shine as shown in the above picture. It's this brilliance in the photo, so you'll be surprised when you get it and actually see it. On the other side, the traditional pattern of Yarai is placed. We look at the condition of the material at the time of production and adjust it considering the best thickness of the cut of Yarai. The cut called Tokusa, which has nine vertically thin lines that divide the whole into two, is also a traditional pattern. The bottom chrysanthemum and the chrysanthemum-tied chrysanthemum are very auspicious with the meanings of longevity, disease-free breathing, evil spirits, nobility, and integrity. In front of the mouth, a double ring is used to tighten the overall design to create a cohesive look. When I actually used it at my favorite bar, I was surprised at how beautiful it was when I put ice in it. The Kiriko of our workshop is polished using the traditional method of Edo Kiriko, "hand polishing", which maintains the strength of the glass and finishes it with high quality. On the other hand, there are some things in the world that polish the glass while immersing it in an acid called "acid polishing" and melting the entire glass into pieces. Acid-polished ones have the disadvantages of being easily scratched and the color may fade, but since the man-hours can be reduced and the price can be sold at a low price, sales will improve, so many workshops and writers perform acid-polishing. We are here. Since the cut surface of our workshop is polished one by one, the original strength of the glass is not lost, and you can wash it with a detergent or scrubbing brush.
