Manus Necklace

Manus is a pendant design created based on the natural structure of the wings of birds. The portion of the wing adopted in this design is the first layer of the wings that slices the wind during flight, very much like the human palm. The dynamism of the wing structure is carefully depicted in the design detail. Each feather in the wing is slightly different in size and shape to one another and this natural asymmetrical structure is a distinctive element in the design. Just as the bird’s wing elegantly folds and closes together naturally, each feather though separate from one another, is designed to overlap one another naturally in a catenary curve, with the chain that goes through the pendant design. Even when the item moves or gets displaced when worn on the body, each feather falls back into place and overlaps one another maintaining a well-balanced composition that mimicks the actual shape of the bird’s wing. A simple design yet one that creates a unique impression.
