Flamenco is the national Spanish dance. But this is too simple and exaggerated definition, because flamenco is passion, fire, vivid emotions and drama. The traditional dress for flamenco in Spanish is called bata de cola, the style and shape of which is reminiscent of ordinary gypsy dresses: a long full skirt, flounces and ruffles along the hem of the dress and on the sleeves.
