This tea jar was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath.
This jar was made from Japanese porcelain clay. I glazed the jar in a blue crackle glaze. Because I fired this piece in a reduction atmosphere the color varied in sections of the pot. The atmosphere in a reduced kiln can be unpredictable, resulting in not to be repeated pottery. All my glazes are food-safe.
I attempted to make a unique jar that could be used for storing your precious tea.
My seal is stamped at the base of the jar.
I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivates me to create functional items out of clay.
Be the owner of a handmade tea jar from the beautiful island of Taiwan.
