Ang Ku Kueh and Huat Kueh are popular kueh in traditional Hokkien Cuisine.
Ang Ku Kueh (literally translated as Red Tortoise Cake) is an Asian pastry which is red and shaped like a tortoise shell, symbolising blessings for good luck and longevity. Huat Kueh is a cupcake-like pastry, where 'Huat' ( 发) literally means 'rise' or 'bloom' in Chinese and is commonly used in reference to prosperity or luck.
