This chawan was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath.
This tea bowl was made from Japanese porcelain clay. I also dusted wood ash inside. While still wet I hand altered the shape, providing a more comfortable drinking experience. Inside is dark black and the outside has some fish markings for interest.
My seal is stamped at the base of the pot near the trimmed foot ring, although most t it is covered in glaze.
I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivated me to create functional items out of clay.
Be the owner of a handmade tea bowl from the beautiful island of Taiwan.
