This tea bowl was wheel thrown from my small rooftop studio where I am now writing this description. I look out at the Yamingshan mountains and draw in a breath.
This tea bowl was made from local black Taiwanese clay and then a clear glaze was applied. The result is a beautiful dark brown, sandy feel. All my glazes are food-safe.
I attempted to make a unique bowl that could be used for your precious tea. As two special features, I added a fish for good luck and also a white porcelain dot to mark the 'front' of the bowl. The hand of the marker should be present.
My seal is stamped near the trimmed foot ring.
I make pottery to hopefully add pleasure to someone's daily life. That is the feeling that motivates me to create functional items out of clay.
