Metamorphosis tumbler

Originally a very special model for contest listings, the Metamorphosis Rockglass has been redesigned to fit the size of the tumbler campus. It's not a one-of-a-kind item like rock glass, but it's a design that's pretty close to a one-of-a-kind item, and it takes days and is physically and mentally restrained for several days, so I'm thinking about not making many. We named it Metamorphosis, a design that varies depending on the viewer. Metamorphosis means that when the larva pupa becomes an adult butterfly, the body structure changes like a completely different organism. The size of the campus is completely different between rock glass and tumbler, so we are making some design adjustments. The tumbler is longer vertically and the circumference is much narrower than the rock glass, so there is less room for lateral design. So, compared to the rock glass mold, ・ The height of the corner cut is increased by 5 mm. ・ The height of the mouth is raised by 3 mm. ・ Eliminate thin lines We are making adjustments. By eliminating the thin lines, we are trying to improve the color and the cut part of Shioume by increasing the color residue on the side. Metamorphosis tumbler, kiriko, from above In rock glass, the bottom chrysanthemum has 24 leaves, but this one is adjusted with 16 leaves. The area of the bottom of the rock glass and the tumbler are different, so I adjusted the number of leaves in consideration of the beautiful appearance. Three kinds of traditional patterns are cut on the side between the original designs. From the left, it is a chrysanthemum basket, a chrysanthemum joint, and a hemp leaf. Chrysanthemum is an auspicious pattern that has been used for a long time with the meaning of longevity, disease-free breathing, and the effect of removing evil spirits. The Kiriko of our workshop is polished using the traditional method of Edo Kiriko, "hand polishing", which maintains the strength of the glass and finishes it with high quality. On the other hand, there are some things in the world that polish the glass while immersing it in an acid called "acid polishing" and melting the entire glass into pieces. Acid-polished ones have the disadvantages of being easily scratched and the color may fade, but since the man-hours can be reduced and the price can be sold at a low price, sales will improve, so many workshops and writers perform acid-polishing. We are here. Since the cut surface of our workshop is polished one by one, the original strength of the glass is not lost, and you can wash it with a detergent or scrubbing brush.
