The chessboard was made at the Lviv furniture factory "Karpaty", Lviv, Ukrainian SSR.
Board size: 45x45 cm.
King is 11 cm.
Bishop is 8 cm.
Pawn is 5.7 cm.
Weight of the chess set is 1.93 kg.
Damages: shabby surface of the board, finial of the black king is slightly banked.
Chess was a very popular game in the Soviet Union.
Children and adults were playing chess regularly, playing at home, on the streets, in the clubs.
