Handmade A5 Notebook - A Ruler of Time (尺寸)

Time is our ruler isn't it? We are limited by time. Each of us just have 24 hours no more no less. What we can do is make the best of our time. We can decide what matters. In that sense, we are the ruler of our time. So take charge of your life, make the most of your time but more importantly make those choices that will make you happy. We decided to put across this message using the Chinese character for time, "时" because interestingly this Chinese character is made up of: day "日" and inch "寸". 日＋寸＝时 In a literal sense, time is measured in inches. When we conceptualised the design for this notebook, we decided that "I" be represented by a vertical standing ruler with etches on it to represent "日". To reemphasise the concept of time, "时", each etch on the ruler is an inch. Combining the ruler and "寸" gives you "时", time...I am the ruler of time.
