Yue Lao
Yue Lao, or the “old man under the moon”, is the god of marriage and love in Daoist religion. He is portrayed as having white hair, long beard and a rosy face, and holding a book of marriage listing in his left hand and a walking stick on his right. According to legends, Yue Lao matches unmarried adult men and women in the world each year and writes their names in a register, and then he ties each couple’s feet together with a red string to ensure their matrimony.
Buddha Maitreya
He is one of the eight Bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism and founder of the Yogacaraschool of Mahayana Buddhism. His school of thinking is highly recommended by Buddhist masters Daoan and Xuanzang.
Lady Zhusheng
